The Space

Welcome to Salal, a charming forest retreat that perfectly balances cozy comfort with essential amenities, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings, group escapes, or peaceful retreats. Nestled within a serene grove of trees, Salal offers privacy, relaxation, and a connection to nature.

Salal comfortably accommodates up to eight adults in four double-occupancy bedrooms, with additional sleeping space for children. Please review the room arrangements below to ensure the space meets the needs of your group.

Sleeping Arrangements
Salal House offers a variety of sleeping spaces to suit your group’s needs:

• Room 1 (Upstairs): King bed – spacious master bedroom with ample natural light, perfect for a restful night’s sleep.
• Room 2 (Upstairs): Queen bed and Twin bed (and one spare bed that can be made up for children ages 0 – 18 upon request) – versatile setup ideal for small families or friends sharing a room.
• Room 3 (Downstairs): Full bed – offers privacy and easy access to downstairs amenities, ideal for those who prefer a quieter sleeping space.
• Room 4 (Downstairs): Bunk bed with two Twin beds – perfect for children or additional guests, creating a fun, informal sleeping space.

Living Areas

• Great Room: The heart of Salal House, featuring Moroccan-inspired floor seating around a wood-burning fireplace. Ideal for relaxed evenings, shared meals, and gatherings, this inviting space is designed to bring everyone together.
• Second Living Room: Overlooking the garden, this room features comfortable sofas and a large-screen TV, offering a more traditional space for watching movies, sports, and games.
• Den:  A comfortable den functions as a flex space for relaxing reading time overlooking the garden.  The space easily converts to additional sleeping for children ages 4 – 16. 

Outdoor Spaces
Salal’s outdoor areas are designed to embrace the tranquility of the surrounding forest while providing ample space for relaxation and entertainment:

• Expansive Decks: Multiple levels for lounging, dining, and entertaining, all surrounded by the sounds of nature.
• Hot Tub: 6-person hot tub for warm, relaxing soaks.
• Copper Cold Plunge Tub: A unique spa-like feature for invigorating cold plunges.
• Private Yard: A spacious area to relax, unwind, and enjoy the surrounding forest.
• Gazebo with BBQ: A private gazebo overlooking the garden has a BBQ and picnic bench for outdoor dining.

Additional Spaces
As a guest of Salal, you’ll also have scheduled access to shared spaces on the property:

• The Ceremony Studio: A heated room with Tibetan and Moroccan-style rugs and pillows, perfect for group activities such as ceremonies, meditation, and yoga.
• The Outdoor Yoga Deck: An outdoor area ideal for sunny days, offering scenic views and a peaceful setting for yoga, meditation, or quiet moments in nature.

Guest Access

Guests staying at Salal House will have exclusive access to:

• The entire house, including all bedrooms and living spaces
• Large outdoor decks designed for entertaining and relaxation
• 6-person hot tub and copper cold plunge tub
• Private yard for relaxation and personal use

Guests will also have shared access to the additional amenities around the property, including The Ceremony Studio and The Outdoor Yoga Deck. When booking Salal independently, we kindly ask guests to be respectful of those staying in the other house, ensuring they have the privacy of their own yard and space.
